Welcome to Dans Fly Shop
We are located in Gorham, New Hampshire just north of Mt. Washington in the Androscoggin River valley. This area is blessed with many beautiful rivers and streams full of trout and smallmouth bass. Although this is a web based business we also welcome fishermen and women to our little shop located in our home. The two main aspects of the fly shop are the flies and guiding fishermen on our local waters.
The Flies
The flies we sell are all tied right here in the shop by myself, no imports. Some of the flies are the tried and true patterns that have proven themselves through the years. Others are my own patterns that I have developed at my vise and tested on our rivers and streams. I also add new flies that are brought to my attention by fishermen. These are flies just have a great fish catching quality about them. When purchasing flies remember to specify size and or color.
Custom tying
Demand for custom tied flies has increased and has become an important part of this shop. If you have a favorite pattern that you can't find or have an idea for a pattern give me call or email and I'll see what I can do.
The Guiding
I am a licensed New Hampshire fishing guide. The guiding is offered on our local waters and runs from late May to mid October. There is a good variety of optons for the fly fisher in this part of New Hampshire. I focus on the small streams for trout and the Androscoggin River for both trout and Smallmouth Bass. The Smallmouth fishing on the Pontook section is one of our best kept secrets! Please check out the guiding options and rates, then get in touch with us and we'll go from there.
